Tracy has studied with a variety of Anusara, Iyengar, Yin and Ashtanga teachers and has been teaching since 2005 in her elementary and middle school classrooms, at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks, in studios in Alaska, Idaho, Wyoming, and California, at Esalen Retreat Center on the Big Sur coast, and at her own Full Life Yoga Studio in Nevada City, California.

One of Tracy’s greatest teachers has been her own body. Discovering structural scoliosis in high school due to extreme pain, Tracy has been working with two extra vertebrae and four curves in her spine most of her life. Her spine led her to Pilates where she learned to integrate limbs and work from the core of her body, a lengthened and

Pilates Machine Work strengthened her spine during her Classical Pilates certification. Tracy also had extra bones in her feet which were removed in 1979. She has worked hard to bring back natural muscular strength in her arches and awareness in her feet. Tracy’s experiences with her spine and feet help her to have empathy for students and their body challenges.

a Doctor of Chiropractic and the creator of Stick Fitness, Dr Arthur has made it his life's work to empower people to take their health & vitality into their own hands.
I have been researching and teaching exercise, fitness, health, anatomy, and kinesiology for the past 40 years in my chiropractic practice, classes, and seminars. I have recently added neuroscience/brain fitness into my present studies and teaching as I now recognize both its importance, and the role this technique can play in keeping our brains and bodies youthful!

With Stick Fitness, we learn to apply a flexible pole or stick to improve body mechanics and movement efficiency. This innovative application enhances functional kinesiology with greater ease and specificity than other props and techniques I have seen.  It's both a creative and precise stretching method, with specific routines for each area of the upper and lower body. It's adaptable for every physical condition (including in a wheelchair, where the idea came from originally).

Pathways to Embodiment
Picture

Receive guidance and experience in “listening” deeply to your body to discover those aspects of yourself that are deeper than your intellect and beyond words. Through the exploration of improvisational movement and embodiment practices you will learn to speak your body's language, more fully inhabit your body and come to know it as a rich resource and sanctuary - a place to connect with your sense of self.

Within the container of our skin there is a myriad of sensation, movement and change taking place even while our body is in relative stillness. Vast, multi-faceted and complex, our inner landscape is constantly informing and influencing how we relate to ourselves as well as to our outer world.

I am a former climbing guide turned doctor of physical therapy with a passion for manual therapy, modern healing technologies and their applications to the active orthopedic population. Now that I am using therapeutic laser and whole-body LED, I finally have effective treatments for pain, inflammation and damage at the cellular level and my treatment population has expanded.

I am excited to offer these therapies to the Truckee/Tahoe region and combine them with a time tested eclectic approach to corrective bodywork and movement.
In my spare time, I enjoy rock climbing, mountain biking, skiing, yoga, meditation and wrenching on my custom camper van.

Your guide to the Vital Body Project
Picture

I have been an instructor & practitioner of somatic arts & healing arts for 25 years.
I used stick stretching to prepare for & recover quickly recover from a double hip replacement in 2016, and to rehabilitate a sad, sore body into a vital, flexible one.   I had to acquire a whole new toolkit for addressing discomfort, inflammation, mobility and recovery.  I spared no expense, dove deeply into modalities, and have distilled the best of them into the Vital Body Project, an accessible protocol which is time- and resource-efficient, and somehow finds a way to make it a journey of self-discovery as well.
