Self-Breema

Streaming free now. My friends at the Breema Center have this ancient and powerful somatic practice accessible for free via their YouTube channel, and live, free Self-Breema classes once or twice every day. Classes & recordings range from 10 minutes to hourlong classes with time for questions and integration. Breema has been a core practice of mine since 1992 and a daily bulwark since the start of COVID.

Earthing & Sunning

Free. There's been some promising research into the benefits of grounding ourself (literally, electrically) by exposing our skin to the natural world. Find a piece of grass or soil and remove your shoes. Take a few breaths standing so your feet are on the ground. 30-60 seconds can be enough to reduce the noise and bring more ease. Or pair the practice with Sunning: you can cover your face, but expose some skin and get your recommended 15-20 minutes of photons,a proper dose so your body produces the essential Vitamin D.

Free. Spend a few minutes calming and focusing your brain with alternate nostril breathing. Guiding us is Seattle-based Nurse & clinical researcher (and longtime pranayaman) Alan Genitossio.

Pranayama in the Redwoods

A bit of magical thinking

Picture
Free. A bit far out? Definitely. A far-reaching guided self-healing program in just 24 minutes that covers every aspect of your being across lifetimes and on every level. It's a tall order but I use it periodically and I recommend you give it a whirl. This is one of the modalities on the page that you might just suspend disbelief for, and not worry about the parts that don't resonate. We might adopt a posture of relaxed curiosity. The soundtrack is intentionally a bit dissonant/chaotic. If it bothers you, use binaural beats (like this one on Youtube or many on Spotify.)

Pets or other people's pets

Spend more time in your Parasympathetic Nervous System, the realm of your Inner Physician, by petting animals or massaging yourself and finding other practices that can bring you into a calm, focused state, in your body.
